This is the only book I have seen with such an extensive grouping of conversation starters! It has made a huge impact on our past year and I am now ordering the next book in the series, "101 Educational Conversations with your 3rd Grader"! Although the author seems to prefer the current trend of whole language style 'facilitator' type teaching and I have leaned that my child leans best in a back to basics environment, I have found this book to be very valuable. It is easy to read, inexpensive (in paperback) and a great resource. This book covers the basics on classroom environment, 2nd grade curriculum and is also packed with conversation starters specific to a 2nd grader. Small enough to keep in your car, it is a great way to have quality conversations with your child to and from soccer practices. Turn off the radio and you will get to know your child on a new level!
